Monolithic Dome Builders Association Meetings
During the summer and fall the Monolithic Dome Institute holds its annual Monolithic Dome Builders Association meeting. This is not a dry academic lecture. It's a five-day event where members get to learn how to build a custom monolithic dome. Students will practice foam spray spraying, apply concrete, spray shotcrete, lay steel, and get familiar with all of the materials and equipment used in building a monolithic dome.
The members of this MDA group are all experienced home builders. Their goals for the meeting are to learn all that they can about building a monolithic dome from the experts who have been doing it for years. There are also speakers, demonstrations, and hands-on activities for the attendees. For example, dome builders will get to practice what they've learned on how to properly measure a hole or what concrete looks like when it's poured.
